The 2017 Carts4Hearts (formerly known as the DRM Heart for the Homeless Urban Iditarod) race is scheduled and ready to rock!

It may seem early, but now is a great time to start thinking about your team theme, fundraising parties, and food drives.

This is a great time to start your fundraising efforts. Fundraising parties are a fun way to reach your team goals. Here’s some ideas;

  • Tailgating – cook off contests ($$=votes for your favorite chili, BBQ, deserts, etc)

  • Team accessories – make jewelry, crocheted scarves, beanies, etc. in school colors

  • Food drive – let your friends & neighbors know that you are collecting food for DRM. Ask them to pick up an extra can every time they go to the store(between September & February that really adds up!)

  • Fundraising letters do well around the holidays. Make sure to ask your company, school, churches to sponsoryour team.

Start telling your friends how much fun you had last year so they will create a team too.

3-2-1 GO!

2017 goals are; 30 teams, $20,000 raised and 10,000 pounds of food! There are 25 weeks until the race.

If we work together we can totally blow up this goal! Let’s look at how this pans out:

GOALS                  Teams = 30                                         Dollars = $20,000              Food = 10,000 lbs             Weeks to Go= 25

Per Team             30                                                           $666                                       333lbs                             $25/13lbs

Per person          6                                                              $111                                      55.5lbs                                 $4/2lbs

Easy Peezy, cool and breezy. I have no doubt you cool & crazy folks will totally annihilate these goals!
